Welcome to KBES!
Welcome to Kleine Brogel Elementary School, School Year 2011-2012. I believe that our school belongs to all of us and that we share in the
responsibilities of educating our children. My staff and I are here to work with all children as individuals - to take
them into the classroom in August and teach them how to learn, how to succeed, how to get along with others, and how to be
the best they can be by June.
I welcome and encourage strong parent involvement in our school and I look forward to joining with the staff and
working with you on behalf of our children. I will do my best to keep you informed through our bi-weekly newsletter,
periodic e-mails, parent meetings, and other school activities.
It will be my pleasure to get to know each and every child in our school. You will receive calls from me from time
to time to share information about your child's progress and accomplishments. In turn, I hope that you will keep me
informed of any news, concerns, or suggestions you may have to make our school even better.
Dr. Terry Emerson, Principal

Field Trip
The 4th-6th graders from KBES took part in a week long field trip to the Belgian Ardennes. Besides excursions to a wildlife park, weather station, a castle, the European Space Center and the caves they also visited the basilica of St. Hubert. On the way back home on Friday they visited the coal mine in Blegny. Above you can see the children getting ready for their tour under the ground.
