Welcome to KBES!
Welcome to KBES and School Year 2009-2010. I believe that our school belongs to all of us and that we share in the
responsibilities of educating our children. My staff and I are here to work with all children as individuals - to take
them into the classroom in August and teach them how to learn, how to succeed, how to get along with others, and how to be
the best they can be by June.
I welcome and encourage strong parent involvement in our school and I look forward to joining with the staff and
working with you on behalf of our children. I will do my best to keep you informed through our bi-weekly newsletter,
periodic e-mails, parent meetings, and other school activities.
It will be my pleasure to get to know each and every child in our school. You will receive calls from me from time
to time to share information about your child's progress and accomplishments. In turn, I hope that you will keep me
informed of any news, concerns, or suggestions you may have to make our school even better.

Message About the Flu
From the DoDEA Flu Update issued on 29 October:
“What should I do if I get sick?"
"If you get sick with flu-like symptoms this flu season, you should stay home and avoid contact with other people except to get medical care. Most people with
2009 H1N1 have had mild illness and have not needed medical care or antiviral drugs and the same is true of seasonal flu.”
For procedures should your child become ill and other health information, please visit our Health/Nurse page.
